Renting in Brooklyn

Brooklyn’s large rental buildings are almost all new. Of the 44 indexed here, 43 were completed in 2010 or later, the result of rezonings in Downtown Brooklyn (2004), on the Greenpoint and Williamsburg waterfront (2005) and in Gowanus (2021), along with large projects such as Pacific Park and the Domino Sugar redevelopment. The one exception is 180 Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights, from 1999.

The largest clusters are in Downtown Brooklyn, where towers like AVA DoBro and Hub rise above some of the borough’s busiest subway stations, and along the East River in Greenpoint and Williamsburg. Brooklyn Crossing at Pacific Park is the largest single building, with 858 apartments. Brookfield Properties and Two Trees Management each manage five buildings here, more than any other company.
