RXR, a New York real estate firm best known for its large office portfolio, developed The Willoughby on the Willoughby Street corridor, where several of Downtown Brooklyn’s biggest rental towers now stand within a few blocks of each other. The 34-story building at 196 Willoughby Street, between Duffield and Gold Streets, was completed in 2021 and holds 476 apartments, with current finishes and amenity spaces. It is part of the dense stretch of towers that has replaced much of the low-rise fabric around the MetroTech campus.

City Point and its Dekalb Market Hall, the Fulton Street shopping corridor and the Brooklyn Academy of Music are within a few blocks, and Fort Greene Park is a short walk east.

The Jay Street-MetroTech station serving the A, C, F and R is nearby, along with the B, Q and R at DeKalb Avenue and the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center hub to the south.
