Once a printing district, its large loft and office buildings along Hudson, Varick and Spring Streets now hold media companies, and the Holland Tunnel entrance sits at its southern edge. The 1 runs under Varick Street with stops at Houston Street and Canal Street, and the C and E stop at Spring Street.
