Renting in Inwood
Inwood, at the northern tip of Manhattan, is a largely Dominican neighborhood of prewar apartment buildings, many of them rent-stabilized, surrounded by parkland: Inwood Hill Park, with the last natural forest on the island, Fort Tryon Park and Isham Park. It has long offered more space for the money than almost anywhere else in Manhattan.
A 2018 rezoning allowed taller buildings along the Harlem River and on the industrial blocks east of Tenth Avenue, and Miramar, completed in 2025 with 474 apartments, is one of the first large buildings to rise under it, including income-restricted units. The A train at Dyckman and 207th Streets runs express to Midtown, and the 1 runs along Broadway and Tenth Avenue.
