The Ritz Plaza

The Ritz Plaza is a rental apartment tower at 235 West 48th Street in the Theater District of Manhattan, managed by Stonehenge NYC. It stands on the block between Broadway and Eighth Avenue, surrounded by Broadway houses and the hotels that fill the streets north of Times Square.

Restaurant Row on West 46th Street, the Brill Building and the theaters along West 44th through West 49th Streets are all within a block or two, with Central Park South and Columbus Circle to the north. The C and E at 50th Street, the 1 at 49th and 50th Streets, and the N, Q, R and W at 49th Street are all close, as is the Times Square-42nd Street complex.

Completed in 1989, the 45-story tower holds 479 apartments and is one of the oldest of the Theater District’s high-rise rentals, built as the area around Times Square began its long revival. Stonehenge NYC, which manages it, also runs 70 West 93rd Street and 101 West 15th Street in this index. Few rental buildings in Manhattan sit closer to Broadway’s theaters and Rockefeller Center.
