Completed in 2018 with 1,028 apartments over 44 floors, The Max is one of TF Cornerstone’s largest Manhattan rental buildings. The company developed and manages the tower at 606 West 57th Street, which fills a full block front near the West Side Highway at the corner of Twelfth Avenue, where Hell’s Kitchen runs into the Riverside South towers. Like most large West Side buildings of its era, it mixes income-restricted apartments leased through the city’s housing lottery with market-rate units.

The tower sits in a cluster of recent rentals that includes VIA 57 West and Helena 57 West across the street. Hudson River Park, the greenway, the Midtown piers and the Pier 97 park are directly west across the highway, DeWitt Clinton Park is a few blocks south, and Columbus Circle, Central Park and Lincoln Center are a walk northeast. The Theater District and Ninth Avenue’s restaurants are within reach.

The A, B, C, D and 1 trains at 59th Street-Columbus Circle are the closest subway service. The far west end of 57th Street is a longer walk to the subway than most of Midtown, but the M57 crosstown bus and the Hudson River Park bikeway help close the gap.
