1440 Amsterdam

1440 Amsterdam is a rental apartment building at 1440 Amsterdam Avenue in Manhattan, developed by the Grid Group with partners. It stands on the blocks where Morningside Heights runs into West Harlem, near the northern end of Morningside Park.

The City College of New York campus and its Gothic buildings are directly north along Convent Avenue, Columbia University’s Manhattanville campus is a few blocks west toward the Hudson, and St. Nicholas Park and the Hamilton Heights brownstones are to the northeast. The A, B, C and D trains at 125th Street and the 1 at 125th Street serve the area, and the 125th Street corridor with the Apollo Theater is a short walk east.
