Building Categories: Dutch Kills Queens

QLIC is a rental apartment building at 41-42 24th Street in Long Island City, Queens, developed by the World Wide Group. It stands in Dutch Kills, the low-rise pocket of Long Island City between Queens Plaza and Sunnyside that has absorbed much of the neighborhood’s recent residential construction.

The building is a few minutes’ walk from Queens Plaza, where the E, M and R trains run, and from Queensboro Plaza, where the 7, N and W meet, putting Midtown Manhattan one or two stops away. The Court Square office cluster and MoMA PS1 are to the south, the Queensboro Bridge crossing is immediately west, and the Vernon Boulevard and Jackson Avenue restaurant strips are within walking distance.

Completed in 2016, the 21-story building holds 421 apartments and was among the first of the new residential buildings in the Dutch Kills blocks near Queens Plaza, ahead of the taller towers that followed. World Wide Group, a New York developer, built it, and its location a short walk from Queensboro Plaza and Queens Plaza puts several subway lines within reach.
