View 34

View 34 is a rental apartment building at 401 East 34th Street in Kips Bay, Manhattan, owned by UDR. It stands at the eastern end of 34th Street, close to the East River and the FDR Drive, with open water views from its upper floors.

The NYU Langone Health campus and Bellevue Hospital are immediately north and south along First Avenue, and the East 34th Street ferry landing, which serves NYC Ferry and commuter routes to Long Island City and New Jersey, is a block east. The 6 train at 33rd Street is the nearest subway, with Penn Station and the Herald Square complex a walk west, and Murray Hill and Kips Bay’s restaurant blocks are just inland.

Completed in 1985, the 35-story building holds 740 apartments. Its owner, UDR, is one of the largest apartment owners in the United States and also owns 10 Hanover Square and Dwell95 in the Financial District. The building’s position at the end of 34th Street gives many apartments open views of the East River and the Long Island City skyline.

The location suits hospital staff and anyone commuting by water, since the East 34th Street ferry landing connects directly to Long Island City, Brooklyn and Wall Street.
