Lyra

Lyra is a rental apartment building at 555 West 38th Street in Hudson Yards, Manhattan, developed and managed by Rockrose Development. It is a tall tower at the corner of Eleventh Avenue and West 38th Street, and it includes affordable apartments offered through the city’s housing lottery.

Hudson Yards, the Vessel and Hudson Park and Boulevard are a short walk south-east, and the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center is across Eleventh Avenue. The Hudson River Park is two blocks west. The 7 stops at 34th Street-Hudson Yards, and the A, C and E at 42nd Street-Port Authority and 34th Street-Penn Station.

Completed in 2022, the 52-story tower holds 598 apartments. It rose under the 2005 Hudson Yards rezoning, which opened the far West Side to high-rise housing, and the 2015 extension of the 7 train to 34th Street-Hudson Yards made blocks like this one practical for residents.

Rockrose, which built and manages Lyra, also runs older Manhattan buildings in this index such as The Archive and Tribeca Pointe, along with its large Long Island City towers. Lyra’s upper floors look west across the Hudson and east toward the Midtown skyline.
